Third & Spruce
Phounding Phather and President “Denny Lorah” welcomed all members to the
meeting. Sign-in sheets and name tags were available at the door. Denny reminded
everyone to sign in.
Denny saluted Nadirah Shakoor for the amazing show she put on at the Caribbean
Christmas show.
We also saluted Howard Livingston of the Mile Marker 24 band in Summerland Key,
FL. His grandson won the “White Christmas” contest on the Weather Channel and
had snow on Christmas day in the Keys. Check out how cool it was! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikDmNVvFNrs

the money raised at the Caribbean Christmas show for the next meeting. We’re
still trying to figure out where the $13,000 we raised for Safe Haven will go.

email him. They’d love any and all submissions.
All events, including parade dates and events for next year, are listed on the
site, through December 2010!!
Next meeting is at the Spruce on Jan 20th.
We’ll add a tab to the website for MOTM info, and Duane will set up a Twitter
account for the club, so we can broadcast plans while everyone is in Key West.
As always, they are looking for content for both the site and the newsletter.
Membership Committee Meeting Minutes
Chairperson: Shawn Guevin
Membership renewals for 2010 are available. Please fill out the forms
completely, including email addresses, since that will be our primary method of
communication. Newsletters will be electronic going forward.
The committee designed and began printing new membership cards last month. About
140 have been completed. The new membership badges are larger (to make it easy
to read people’s names) and will be updated with yearly stickers, rather than
replaced each year (to eliminate the need to create brand new cards every year).
If anyone wants to join the committee, please let Shawn know. We always meet the
second Monday of the month at Denny and Tina’s house.
Charity Committee Meeting Minutes
Chairperson: Gary Kraft
Gary recapped the winter party charities. Berks Visiting Nurse Children’s
Immunizations vaccinates children without health insurance. The money we raise
will go toward the purchase of vaccines and related supplies. The Children’s
Alopecia Project (CAP) organization was started by Jeff Woytovich when his
daughter lost 75% of her hair in kindergarten. Alopecia is an auto-immune
disease, which is not contagious and not painful. CAP was created to provide a
way to build the self-esteem of children with the disease. The organization has
spread across the country and gone international.
Contact Gary or a committee member to suggest a charity to be considered for
future events.

Kris Johnson gave the report. He said that he’ll be sending an email to get a
