Third & Spruce

Phounding Phather and President “Denny Lorah” welcomed all members to the meeting. He mentioned that the sign in

sheets have been made even more user-friendly, and encouraged everyone to use them. He also welcomed back Brenda Beissel!

We saluted the new Land Shark Stadium in Miami, re-named in May as a result of Jimmy Buffett’s new partnership with the Miami

Dolphins football team. Bob and Marilyn Baertschy attended the free kick-off concert. We also saluted JR Koch and the Family

Guidance Center, for making the golf outing such a huge success!

The president asked if all members had received a copy of May’s minutes; Brenda Beissel did not.

The president asked for a motion from the floor to approve the minutes. A motion was made by Shawn Guevin to accept the

minutes of our last meeting and a second by Janice Kraft; a vote was taken and the minutes were approved.

The Treasurer’s report was given by Tim Kraft. Tim said we had some recent expenses, but that our checking and savings accounts

have about $10.5K each right now.

 OLD BUSINESS:

Cookbooks – Brenda Beissel had cookbooks at the meeting. They are still available, for $10 each.

Float – Marilyn Baertschy said that the float is named the “Leaky Tiki”. She also confirmed that the float will be in the King Frost

parade in Hamburg this fall.

Summer Parrot Daze is July 11th. The evening band will be Jimmy and the Parrots. Also, Jim and Jimmy will play together in the

afternoon.

Tuesday, August 26th is the Buffett night at the Reading Phillies. The interest in tickets has been fair so far, but we still have a

bunch to sell. Jimmy Budda will be playing and we’ll be hanging out in the pool area – it should be another fun BCPHC night!

Tickets are $26 each.

Kris talked about summer concert tickets for Camden and Atlantic City, and encouraged everyone to pick up their tickets

in advance.

The golf outing on May 15th was a great success; there were 25 foursomes and we helped to raise $7,800 for the Family

Guidance Center!

The Caribbean Christmas show will be Saturday, December 5th at the Scottish Rite. Nadirah Shakoor will headline the

show!

The next general meeting will be Tuesday, July 7th, 2009 at 7 PM at Third & Spruce.
